What You Might Find Here

I've always thought of myself as a writer. Mostly because I get such satisfaction from it, and because that is the medium through which my thoughts seem to make the most sense. I don't always make sense when I'm just talking. But writing; I feel at home when I'm writing. Here I'll share thoughts, opinions, poems, short stories, and random sketches of "The Wanderers". "The Wanderers" is an ongoing story that I have no intention of finishing, but dearly love adding to. I haven't started this blog, because I think my life is especially fabulous. I'm a stay at home mom, occasionally a college student, a homeschooler and a terrible speller. I love my kids, Jesus, coffee, my husband and ice cream (not in that order). I hate animals, materialism, insincerity, and all things "trendy" (if it's popular I probably won't like it. The exception to this would be all things "Twilight". Twilight IS popular and I DO like it). So that's me, the standard edition, no frills attached.

Thank you "Alabama"

In an effort to make my life a more peaceful, positive experience: I quit watching the news habitually a few weeks ago. However, the recent stock market stories, have worked their way into just about every avenue of the media, so I've gotten the message: Everything smells like poo-poo right now. I can relate to poo-poo. And I'm sort of getting the impression that this may not be the nice, neatly folded in your diaper, smelling a little like lunch meat, poo-poo. This is running down the leg, up the back, smeared on the baby bed, smelling like old salmon patties dunked in orange juice and milk kind of poo-poo. Right? Or do I exaggerate? I've yet to feel too emotionally affected by the stories, especially when the saddest story they could up with today was how Warren Buffet has lost 12 BILLION dollars in the last six months so NOW he only has 50 BILLION dollars! Sorry but I just couldn't quite get the old tear ducts moving for Warren this morning. Anyway, I can't help be reminded of a line from the old Alabama song "Song of the South"

"Some one told us Wall Street fell
But we were so poor we couldn't tell"

That's great. That's me and Rick. The closer to the bottom you are, the shorter of a distance you will fall! So my heart goes out to any of you who will feel directly impacted by recent economic events. If any of you need thrifty living tips or tricks please email me! I've got a million twists on the classic "egg sandwich", and you would be amazed at how many things you can make out of beans!!! Good luck all. Hang in there :o)
